Types of Facial Laser Treatments for Men

Levulan: This system is a groundbreaking advance in skin treatment for men. It uses a process called photodynamic therapy (PDT). This treatment involves the use of laser energy to treat certain skin diseases, sun damage, precancerous cells on the facial skin, acne, or inflammatory rosacea.

Recovery from Facial Laser Treatments

The type of laser treatment will determine your recovery time. As Dr. Heil uses the safest, FDA-approved facial lasers, the recovery time is typically very fast – with BBL laser treatments, you can expect to return to your usual activities the same day. To achieve the optimal results, you may require several treatments, usually about three, scheduled a month apart, with touch-ups every year after that.

With photodynamic therapy performed with the MedLight C6, recovery is typically easy and feels light a mild sunburn.

It is imperative that you avoid sun exposure after treatment and stay indoors for about four days after treatment to avoid skin redness—as is the case with most laser treatments. Pain and discomfort is minimal with this treatment.
